Featuring Shadhika Srijoni Tania, a next generation Baul practitioner specializing in the performance and composition of Baul music and song. Sadhika Srijoni Tania is a Baul practitioner and renowned performer of various song traditions of South Asia.


Sadhika Srijoni Tania is a Baul practitioner and renowned performer of various song traditions of South Asia. Her early involvement with Baul spirituality and song is owed to her family’s influence. Srijoni has performed at numerous local, national, and international events including those organized by the Government of Bangladesh, the Bangla Academy of Dhaka, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, several Bangladeshi universities, various district based literary festivals and many traditional Baul events.

Saymon Zakaria is a writer and researcher. He is Deputy Director of the Bangla Academy,Dhaka, Bangladesh and Chairperson of the Bhābanagara Foundation. He is internationally recognized for his ethnographic fieldwork regarding Intangible Cultural Heritage. He has delivered academic lectures on language, literature, and culture at the University of Chicago, University of California Santa Barbara, the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, and the Sapientia-Hungarian University of Transylvania.
